Leather...
Have you ever really sat down to think about where your favorite leather coat came from? Well, it really isn't WHERE it came from, but WHO it came from. Yes, your favorite brown leather coat once had a face. It was somebody. It had a beating heart. It could feel and now you are wearing it.

Came from THIS
Does that make you think? I don't mean think a little bit. What I mean is to sit down and REALLY think about what they had to do to this poor, innocent being in order for you to have that coat you are wearing.
Take a look at this link from PETA (who I am not a huge fan of, but it will give you the rundown)...
Feel anything? If so, please help by sharing with others and educate them.
*VEGANS AND LEATHER*
The subject of leather, brings to mind something else that has been discussed lately in some groups I am a part of. Yes, they are vegan groups. So you would think that vegans wouldn't promote the wearing of any type of animal skin, right? WRONG. Amazing, right? It makes me really angry to know that there are some people out there claiming to be vegan, but still are wearing animal skins. My question is: What exactly is that doing for the movement? You are a vegan fighting for animal rights, but at the same time you are wearing their skin? Hmm. To me, that doesn't make much sense. I would think that as a vegan, you would do all you could to show others that it is NOT okay to exploit animals in any way, shape or form. I get it, you purchased the leather before going vegan, however do you think people will take you seriously if you are handing them a pamphlet or having a discussion with them while WEARING AN ANIMAL? No! They are going to think that it is OKAY to wear the skin of an animal. They are going to think that veganism is only a diet. Come on guys, we can do better than this. We know that veganism isn't a diet, it is a lifestyle. We know that we need to do everything we possibly can to get others to understand that animals are not ours to eat, WEAR or for our entertainment. Get it together, and practice what you preach!
